Southern Homes & Land Real Estate

The Heart Behind the Sign

Sometimes I sit and think about where I am now in life… and where I once was. So much has changed, and if I’m being honest, there are still moments when I ask myself, how did I get here?

The answer is simple: hard work, determination, and a refusal to give up when life felt uncertain.

For many years, I was a stay-at-home mom and never worked outside the home. And truthfully, I took great pride in being a wife and mother. That chapter of my life mattered deeply to me, and it always will. But as my girls grew up, I found myself standing in a new season, asking a question so many women eventually ask:

What now?

I did not have some big plan mapped out. I did not know exactly what the future would hold. I just knew I was being called into something new.

A friend suggested real estate school, and to be honest, that was never something I had imagined for myself. Not even in my wildest dreams. But I took a leap of faith and walked through the doors of Roz Allemond’s Real Estate School… and I never looked back.

I began my real estate career in 2007, and from the very beginning, I was all in. I worked hard, stayed hungry to learn, and soaked up every bit of training and knowledge I could. I wanted to know everything I possibly could so I could better serve my clients. I never wanted to just “get by” in this business. I wanted to grow, improve, and become the kind of agent people could truly depend on.

And somewhere along the way, I found something I never expected.

I found more than a career.
 I found a passion.

Real estate has never been just a job to me. It is something I care deeply about because behind every transaction is a person, a family, a story, and a major life decision. A home is never just a house. It is where life happens. It is where memories are made, where new chapters begin, and where people often find comfort, security, and hope.

Over the years, that hard work paid off in meaningful ways. I went from being a stay-at-home mom to becoming a top-producing real estate agent. I was honored to receive the TOP GUN Award at Keller Williams Realty, given to the agent who sold the most in one year in an office of more than 80 agents. In 2019, I was also honored to be named CENLA’s Best Real Estate Agent.

Those accomplishments mean a lot to me, and I am grateful for them. But the truth is, the awards are not the heart of why I do this.

The heart of it has always been the people.

Since entering real estate, I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, many of whom have become truly dear to me. That is one of the greatest gifts this career has given me. I do not see people as transactions. I see them as individuals with real lives, real concerns, real hopes, and real decisions to make.

As a real estate broker, I do more than help people buy and sell property. I help people navigate major life transitions. Behind every move, there is usually a story. Sometimes it is full of excitement and new beginnings. Sometimes it comes with uncertainty, grief, pressure, or hard decisions. Sometimes it is a long-awaited dream finally coming true.

That is why I lead with honesty.
That is why I lead with compassion.
That is why I work hard.
And that is why I care so deeply.

Those values are not just part of my business. They are part of who I am. In fact, they are the very foundation Southern Homes & Land Real Estate was built on.

When my clients work with me, I want them to always know three things:

I will be honest, no matter what.
Even when the truth is hard to hear, I believe honesty is always the right choice.

Their best interest will always come first.
Not my convenience. Not a quick sale. Not just getting to the closing table. My job is to protect and guide the people who trust me.

I want every client to feel like they matter.
Because they do. Whether someone is buying their first home, selling a home full of memories, or stepping into a brand-new chapter, they deserve to feel seen, supported, and cared for.

That is not just how I do business.
 That is who I am.

In 2021, I took another big step and became a Real Estate Broker, opening Southern Homes & Land Real Estate. That was a proud moment for me, but more than anything, it was the continuation of everything I had already built my career on: honesty, hard work, compassion, and treating people the way I would want my own family treated.

When you work with me, you are not just hiring a broker.

You are choosing someone who will stand beside you, tell you the truth, protect your best interests, and care about your journey every step of the way.

If you are considering buying or selling real estate, I would be honored to help you. And if you choose to trust me with that journey, I want you to know I will never take that trust lightly.
